The construction technology of high-speed maglev with constant navigation at a speed of 600 kilometers per hour is moving towards engineering application

Recently, Wen Wangqing, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute (hereinafter referred to as CRFourth Institute), told reporters that the major scientific research project of China Railway Construction led by the institute has been successfully completed. The special project has formed a series of independent intellectual property rights and guiding design principles in the construction of key technologies for high-speed maglev, taking a big step towards engineering application. Maglev transportation is a new technology that emerged 100 years after the development of traditional railway transportation. This technology reconstructs the relationship between trains and routes in a non-contact manner, breaking through the speed limit of traditional ground transportation. Magnetic levitation technology is based on the electromagnetic levitation principle of "same sex repels each other, opposite sex attracts each other". It uses magnets to counteract the gravity of the earth and levitate the vehicle, then uses electromagnetic force to guide and push the train forward. Since the 1960s, major developed countries such as Germany and Japan have successively carried out large-scale research on maglev transportation. The technical routes of maglev transportation can be divided into conventional high-speed maglev and superconducting high-speed maglev. Wen Wangqing introduced that the permanent magnet high-speed maglev can use electromagnetic attraction to achieve suspension. Specifically, it utilizes electromagnetic attraction between electromagnets and good magnetic materials, and achieves non-contact suspension between trains and tracks through automatic closed-loop control. Superconducting high-speed maglev utilizes the diamagnetism of superconductors to achieve magnetic levitation. Superconducting magnets generate a strong magnetic field at low temperatures, which interacts with the coils on the track and generates electric repulsion to suspend the train. In the 1990s, China began synchronous research on maglev and wheel rail technology solutions for the Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway. Zeng Min, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Bridge Institute of China Railway Fourth Institute, said that the key technology research for the construction of the 600 km/h Changdao high-speed maglev has made up for the shortcomings of the existing Changdao high-speed maglev in areas such as independent intellectual property rights, system industry chain, and engineering applications. The project team focuses on the construction of the Changdao high-speed maglev long trunk line as an application scenario, and conducts systematic research on seven aspects including bridge construction, tunnel construction, research on main technical standards for station yards, key technologies for long stator traction network construction, key technologies for traction power supply and operation control system, and key technologies for turnout system. They also analyze and layout the construction technology patents for the Changdao high-speed maglev with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour. After 4 years, the project team successfully completed the research tasks in each stage. The project has formed a total of 70 patents, 4 products, 3 construction methods, 2 processes, 5 technical specifications, and 1 software copyright. At the same time, the project team also invented a functional component track beam integrated structure suitable for full coverage of bridges, roads, and tunnels, developed high-precision multi-directional stepless adjustable bearings to ensure the accuracy requirements of construction and operation, and innovatively designed specialized equipment suitable for the construction and operation of permanent magnet high-speed maglev to improve construction efficiency and reduce operation difficulty.
