Affected by the rainstorm, the Hong Kong Tourism Development Board ("HKTB" for short) announced the cancellation of the maritime fireworks show scheduled to be held at 8:00 p.m. on the evening of the 15th. On the evening of May 1st, the Hong Kong Tourism Development Board held a fireworks display by the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. On the 15th, under the influence of the southwest monsoon, Hong Kong experienced a series of heavy rains. The Hong Kong Observatory issued a yellow rainstorm warning signal for the third time at 17:50 on the same day, and issued a special weather warning at 18:32. Strong gusts will blow Hong Kong, so please take shelter in a safe place outdoors. The maritime fireworks show, originally scheduled to be held at Wanchai Beach on the evening of the 15th, is the second regular maritime fireworks show hosted by the Hong Kong Tourism Development Council and one of the series of festival activities during the 2024 "Hong Kong International Loong Boat Invitational Competition".
