A millennium old commercial port, a pearl of the sea silk. Recently, with the strong support of the United Front Work Department of the Huangpu District Committee and the Huangpu District Committee of the Communist Youth League in Guangzhou, the "Art Navigation Guangzhou, Creative Sailing" Hong Kong University Internship Team visited the Nanhai Temple and Guangzhou Maritime Museum in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, to gain a firsthand understanding of the history of Guangzhou as a "millennium old commercial capital" and appreciate the glory of the Maritime Silk Road. It is understood that the Nanhai Temple was first built in the 14th year of Emperor Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, with a history of more than 1400 years. It is also the largest and most complete preserved temple among the four major sea temples in China. On the morning of June 8th, the rain outside the Nanhai Temple was continuous, and several temple steles and pavilions showed tranquility and mystery amidst the misty rain; Entering the temple, Hong Kong university students, who were originally stuffy and unbearable, felt a hint of coolness. While listening to the staff's patient explanation, they watched the historic sites - from the Qingqua site to the Haibuyangbo memorial archway, from the imperial steles of the emperors to the steles and pavilions of the past dynasties. Everyone was immersed in the profound historical and cultural heritage of Huangpu. The mainland internship group of Hong Kong university students walked into the Nanhai Temple (photo/news agency). A few hundred meters away from the Nanhai Temple is the magnificent Guangzhou Maritime Museum. From a distance, it looks like a ship floating in the middle of the water, and students walking here seem to be about to board the ship and set sail for a long journey. In the theme exhibition hall of "Sailing Across the Seven Seas - Guangzhou and the Maritime Silk Road during the Tang and Song Dynasties", Hong Kong university students gained a deep understanding of the unique charm of Guangzhou, a "millennium old commercial capital", and its historical prosperity, commercial prevalence, and cultural integration from shipbuilding and navigation, porcelain export, market vessel system, and Tibetan merchants and workshops. After the Hong Kong mainland internship group visited the Guangzhou Maritime Museum (as shown in the picture/Xinhua News Agency), Wei Qing from Lingnan University (Hong Kong) told Xinhua News Agency reporters that she deeply felt the strong cultural atmosphere of Guangzhou through this visit to Huangpu. Especially when visiting the Nanhai Temple, she could appreciate the unique Lingnan culture from the stories of Nanhai deities such as Zhu Rong and the temple architecture. Liang Yongsi, also from the same school, believes that her experience of visiting the Nanhai Temple left a deep impression on her, as she was able to learn about Guangzhou's very interesting folk stories and history. Afterwards, the two classmates expressed their expectations for their future internships and life in Guangzhou. They hoped to experience, learn, and gain a deeper understanding of the beauty of Guangfu culture while accumulating social experience in Guangzhou. Hong Kong university students Wei Qing (left) and Leung Wing Si (right) (photo/Xinhua News Agency), Hong Kong university student Luo Tianyu, expressed great happiness to be able to enter the present and future of Huangpu under the careful arrangement of the organizer. He believes that by visiting the Guangzhou Maritime Museum, he has gained a deeper understanding of Guangzhou's maritime culture, and has derived many of his own understanding and views. He is full of confidence and expectations for the future development of Yangcheng. Hong Kong university student Luo Tianyu (photo/news agency) believes that cultural identity is an important foundation for national and ethnic identity, and it is also the deepest foundation. The visit itinerary of the "Art Aviation Guangzhou, Creative Sailing" Hong Kong University Student Internship Team to Huangpu allows students to understand the cultural heritage of Guangzhou Huangpu from thousands of years of history and culture; Let students step out of their books and experience the beauty of Lingnan's corridors, pavilions, and boat docks firsthand. This plays an undeniable role in helping Hong Kong youth understand the profound historical connotations of their motherland and appreciate China's development achievements through a comparison between ancient and modern times.
