According to the work deployment of the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Exchange and Cooperation between the Supreme People's Court and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and with the approval of the Supreme People's Court, the Chongqing High People's Court and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization officially signed the "Agreement on Strengthening Exchange and Cooperation in Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Field of Intellectual Property" in Chongqing on June 1st. Vice ministerial level full-time member of the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People's Court, Wang Shumei, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Wang Binying, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Jiang Tianbo, and Party Secretary and President of the Chongqing High Court, Li Yongli, attended the event and delivered speeches. Wang Shumei pointed out that this signing is another important measure for the Chinese court to deeply implement the construction of an intellectual property power and participate in the multilateral affairs of the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is also a vivid practice of striving to build Chongqing into a new highland for international first-class intellectual property protection, serving as an important strategic pivot for western development in the new era and a comprehensive hub for inland opening up. Chinese courts will continue to engage in extensive and in-depth exchanges with the World Intellectual Property Organization, establish closer cooperative relationships, and continue to be active builders, important contributors, and steadfast defenders of the multilateral intellectual property system. Together, we will promote the development of the global intellectual property governance system towards a more just and reasonable direction, so that scientific and technological innovation achievements can benefit people of all countries more fairly and justly. Wang Binying expressed that the World Intellectual Property Organization appreciates Chongqing's achievements in innovation and intellectual property. With the support of the Supreme People's Court, the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Chongqing High Court will cooperate in entrusted mediation, talent cultivation, public publicity, and other aspects of foreign-related intellectual property cases.
