The 5-day event brings a feast of food from the tip of the tongue to the heart for citizens and travelers. Local communities in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang have joined the carnival for the first time this year. At the stalls of the Hong Kong Xinjiang Friendship Association, there is a wide variety of Xinjiang specialty products such as white matsutake, cantaloupe, and raisins. Tian Lei, Acting Chairman of the Hong Kong Xinjiang Friendship Association, said, "We hope to bring Xinjiang's grilled buns, lamb skewers and other delicacies to the venue next year, so that more local residents can taste them." At the stalls of the Hong Kong Chongqing Association, many citizens are selecting products such as Chongqing sour and spicy noodles and hot pot seasoning. Zhong Weiming, Vice President of the Hong Kong Chongqing Federation, stated that the "Hometown Market Carnival" not only reflects Chongqing's culinary culture, but also brings people's hearts closer to the two regions. I hope Hong Kong citizens can learn about Chongqing and love it through Chongqing cuisine. The fragrant skewers are made by rolling small pancakes with scallions and sauce, taking a bite and leaving a lingering fragrance on their cheeks... In this year's newly established "Chinese Food Street," the popular Zibo barbecue on the internet has also been added, with long queues near the stalls. Geng Guohua, president of the Zibo Hometown Association in Hong Kong, said that in order to bring the original Zibo barbecue to Hong Kong citizens, the small chives and other materials in the barbecue were specially transported from Shandong, and the vice president of the Zibo Barbecue Association was invited to bake on site. On June 1st, citizens purchased Zibo barbecue at the second "Hometown Market Carnival". Last year's popular product Roujiamo has returned this year. Ms. Zhou is a Shaanxi native who has been working in Hong Kong for many years. She has been checking in at the carnival for two consecutive years. I was very surprised to taste the Roujiamo from my hometown. I have been working and living in Hong Kong for 10 years, and every time I taste the taste of my hometown, it brings back memories of my hometown, making me feel warm and happy. In front of many booths, I can hear dialects from various regions, which fully reflects the attraction of the local flavor to people from other places. In addition to a variety of delicious food, the event will also bring over 280 unique cultural performances, and launch a special area for intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and performances, showcasing 260 intangible cultural heritage works, etc. Gong Junlong, Director of the Organizing Committee for the event and Chairman of the Guangdong Association of Societies in Hong Kong, stated that this carnival is a summer gift to Hong Kong citizens, showcasing patriotism through local sentiment.
