On May 29th, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, in collaboration with the Qianhai Management Bureau, held a Qianhai docking meeting for investment promotion in the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone in Qianhai, Shenzhen. The meeting comprehensively promoted the construction of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, with a focus on promoting the business environment and investment opportunities in the Qianhai Shekou area. After 9 years of construction, the comprehensive economic strength of Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone has leapt to the top in the country, contributing one-third of the province's foreign investment and 7.8% of its foreign trade imports and exports with a land area of 60000. It has become an important window for Guangdong Province to open up to the outside world and an important engine for economic growth. It is reported that since the establishment of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, 696 system innovation achievements have been formed, 101 of the world's top 500 enterprises have been attracted, 501 projects have been invested, 272 headquarters enterprises have been gathered, and the actual utilized foreign capital has reached 53.9 billion US dollars. The accumulated fixed assets investment has exceeded 1.2 trillion yuan; The GDP of the three major platform regions of Hengqin, Qianhai, and Nansha has increased from 224.4 billion yuan in 2015 to 526 billion yuan in 2023, a growth of more than double, and various economic indicators rank among the top in the national free trade pilot zones. Sun Bin, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, stated that the purpose of this event is to better promote the innovative institutional system of Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, the business environment that is in line with international standards, the unique deep cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and the complete modern industrial foundation. It is hoped that this activity will build a platform for government enterprise exchanges and cooperation for distinguished guests and friends, share the huge development opportunities contained in Chinese path to modernization, and make the achievements of reform and development benefit more enterprises. The relevant person in charge of Qianhai Management Bureau introduced the investment and business environment of Qianhai. In recent years, the Qianhai Plan and Qianhai Plan have brought significant benefits. The negative list of cross-border service trade and the dual "15%" tax policy have been implemented first, and industrial policies such as finance, commercial logistics, and artificial intelligence have been introduced. Tom Bakker, General Manager of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, said that Qianhai has great potential, with complete infrastructure and beautiful living environment, which is conducive to the conditions and environment for foreign investment and also convenient for Hong Kong enterprises to invest and develop.
