On the afternoon of the 28th, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, held talks with Indonesian Parliament Speaker Buan at the Great Hall of the People. Zhao Leji stated that China and Indonesia are traditional friendly neighbors. Next year will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China is willing to work with Indonesia, based on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, to continuously deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, promote the construction of a community with a shared future at a high level, and better benefit the two countries and their peoples. Zhao Leji pointed out that China and Indonesia are both developing countries and emerging market countries, with development concepts in line, broad common interests, and a crucial future and destiny. Both sides need to consolidate high-level strategic mutual trust and firmly support each other's core interests. The Chinese side is willing to continue to strengthen the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with Indonesia's development strategy, and promote the upgrading of practical cooperation between the two sides; Actively engage in cultural exchanges and strengthen the social and public opinion foundation for building a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the publication of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. China is willing to work with Indonesia and other ASEAN countries to practice the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, promote the Bandung spirit of unity, friendship, and cooperation, strengthen multilateral cooperation around the implementation of global development initiatives, global security initiatives, and global civilization initiatives, build a closer China ASEAN community of destiny, and work together to contribute to world peace, stability, development, and prosperity. Zhao Leji emphasized that the legislative bodies of the two countries have long maintained a tradition of friendly exchanges, which is an important manifestation of high-level strategic mutual trust between China and Indonesia. The National People's Congress of China is willing to continue to engage in multi-level and multi-disciplinary communication and exchanges with the Indonesian parliament, deepen exchanges between high-level legislative bodies, bilateral friendly groups, specialized committees, and working institutions, encourage exchanges between women, youth representatives, and legislators, and carry out exchanges and mutual learning around rule of law construction, economic development, people's livelihood improvement, ecological protection, etc., to better serve the economic construction and modernization process of each country. Both sides should strengthen coordination and cooperation under multilateral mechanisms such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the G20 Speaker's Meeting, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, and the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly, in order to safeguard the common interests of the two countries and developing countries. Buan stated that Indonesia firmly adheres to the One China principle and believes that this is the political foundation of Indonesia China relations. I hope to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in various fields such as economy, politics, culture, law, and the ocean, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries. The Indonesian parliament is willing to closely maintain friendly exchanges with the National People's Congress of China and play a positive role as a legislative body in developing mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
