In order to steadfastly promote high-level opening-up and accelerate the construction of green development demonstration zones, on May 28th, Conghua District of Guangzhou held a survey of overseas Chinese leaders from around the world visiting Conghua and the promotion event of "Conghua Litchi Meets Southeast Asian Durian". More than 100 overseas Chinese leaders and businessmen from 50 countries, including the United States, France, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil, South Africa, as well as representatives of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan associations and enterprises, conducted in-depth inspections and exchanges in Conghua. More than 140 people participated in the event, including Jiang Fan, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Office, Bian Yong, Chairman of the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, Dong Ke, Secretary of the Conghua District Committee, Zhang Wenhong, Wu Weidong, Wang Zhifeng, Tu Jiachao, and overseas Chinese entrepreneurs. Overseas Chinese leaders from around the world visited Conghua in Guangzhou to inspect the construction of the Conghua Lychee Cultural Expo Park, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse, and the Guangzhou branch of the National Version Museum. They conducted in-depth discussions on lychee cultivation, frozen dormant lychee preservation technology, and the development of the Conghua lychee industry. They also gained an on-site understanding of the Conghua Racecourse Phase II project jointly promoted by Conghua District and the Hong Kong Jockey Club, as well as the construction of the world-class modern horse industry economic circle in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. They personally experienced the brilliant civilization and unique charm of the Lingnan culture carried by the Chinese version. During the event, Dong Ke, Secretary of the Conghua District Committee, introduced the ecological environment, industrial development, and investment attraction of Conghua District to overseas Chinese leaders and guests from various countries. He stated that the current Greater Bay Area is accelerating its integrated development, with more convenient connectivity among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, more frequent international exchanges, and more active industrial coordinated development. As an important ecological hinterland of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Conghua District is one of the "Top 10 Green Cities in China". At present, it has undertaken 17 national pilot demonstration tasks and planned to build three strategic platforms based in Guangzhou and facing the Bay Area. Overseas Chinese leaders from around the world visited the Guangzhou branch of the National Version Museum. Among them, Fortune 500 companies such as Unilever, Heinz, and Prolos have settled in the Conghua Economic Development Zone in Guangdong. Now, Conghua is accelerating the establishment of a national high-tech zone. Gaopu Creative Valley is adjacent to the China Singapore Knowledge City and is vigorously building a knowledge intensive industrial system to create a new highland for green development. The hot spring headquarters cluster is in line with Davos, Switzerland, with a focus on developing the headquarters economy and modern horse industry, creating a headquarters cluster in the forest. In March of this year, Conghua District initiated a nationwide investment promotion event in collaboration with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which received extensive publicity and coverage from domestic and foreign media. Today, using lychee and durian as media, we gather with overseas Chinese leaders and guests from various countries to seek broader and deeper cooperation opportunities. Liang Champion, Chairman of the American East Chinese Association Federation, believes that Conghua District has organized large-scale overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to visit and exchange ideas in Conghua for two consecutive years. Thai overseas Chinese leader, Guangzhou Honorary Citizen, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Aluminum Can Holdings Co., Ltd., Lian Yunzeng, stated that during this event, he signed a framework agreement for cooperation between his Eurasian travel company in Thailand and Conghua Litchi Industry Research Institute to jointly build a durian industry research institute. He fully introduced advanced agricultural technology projects from Conghua to inject new energy into the management of durian cultivation and ultra-low temperature freezing storage in Thailand, and the prospect of cooperation is exciting.
