"At present, the creation of a model area for ethnic unity and progress has achieved full coverage of autonomous regions, cities, counties, townships, and villages (communities), with extensive exchanges and integration among all ethnic groups, jointly safeguarding the sacred land and building a happy home." Yan Jinhai said, "Last year, Xizang received 55.17 million tourists from home and abroad, with a total tourism revenue of 65.1 billion yuan, up 83.7% and 60% respectively year on year, both of which hit a new record." Adhering to the people centered development philosophy, Tibet managed to ensure the people's wellbeing. "We have vigorously improved infrastructure conditions such as water, electricity, roads, communication, and housing, and the lives of people of all ethnic groups have undergone tremendous changes from buckets to water pipes, oil lamps to electric lamps, dirt roads to oil roads, felt houses to tiled houses." At present, the area of nature reserves in the Xizang Autonomous Region accounts for 36% of the region's land area, and the area of ecological protection red line accounts for more than 50%. The results of the second Qinghai Tibet scientific expedition indicate that the total water volume of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau exceeds 9 trillion cubic meters, equivalent to the annual runoff of the Yellow River for 150 years and the Yangtze River for 10 years. The Qinghai Tibet Plateau has achieved overall carbon neutrality.
