Hong Kong sets out again and the Major Alliance proposes four suggestions for developing new driving forces

On the 20th, the Hong Kong Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong held a press conference to celebrate its fourth anniversary, and released a report titled "Research on the Development of New Energy Industries in Hong Kong" on the development of Hong Kong in four areas: International Trade Center, Center for Cultural and Art Exchange between China and Foreign Countries, Regional Intellectual Property Trade Center, and International Aviation Hub, proposing a series of strategic suggestions. Leung Chun ying, the general convener of the Hong Kong Alliance for the Return of Hong Kong, delivered a speech stating that the past year has been a year of comprehensive resumption of social and economic activities in Hong Kong. While consolidating our foundation and strengthening our economy, we must actively explore new paths and driving forces for development, and contribute new strength to the country. To this end, while actively speaking out for the sustained stability of Hong Kong over the past year, the Major Alliance has also focused more on in-depth research on the development strategies of Hong Kong's future new energy industries. In the 14th Five Year Plan of the country, Hong Kong has established the positioning of "eight major centers", and the Major Alliance Report covers four of these areas. In terms of enhancing the international trade center, the Major Alliance analyzed the current development situation of the world trade industry and believed that Hong Kong needs to continue to make efforts in digital transformation, cross-border e-commerce development, and new offshore trade services in the future. It is necessary to build an inclusive digital platform based on cloud computing platforms and supported by high-tech, and build it into a cross-border supply chain management center. Regarding the development of cultural and artistic exchange centers between China and foreign countries, the Major Alliance has put forward the focus of "developing and strengthening the cultural industry", and combined with the development of Hong Kong's industry, it is recommended to focus on art trading, performing arts, and creative design as key areas. The Major Alliance also calls on Hong Kong to establish a normalized platform mechanism to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign countries, and actively build the Hong Kong urban brand. Regarding the construction of a regional intellectual property trade center, the Major Alliance pointed out that Hong Kong's intellectual property trade should be more focused, inclined towards the development of technology achievements such as patents and technology secrets, and systematically laid out in stages and in the long term. Biopharmaceuticals can be used as the entry point to carry out service pilot work, gradually expanding the intellectual property trade and comprehensive service alliance, and ultimately building a complete intellectual property trade service ecosystem. As for the improvement of the status of international aviation hubs, the recommendations of the Major Alliance include enhancing the strategic position of aviation policies, seizing new opportunities in global transit trade, leveraging the role of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the vast economic hinterland of the mainland, strengthening Hong Kong's aircraft leasing and financing business, focusing on cutting-edge aviation technology, and establishing aviation technology research and development bases. The Secretary General of the Major Alliance, Tan Yaozong, summarized that the alliance will next meet with relevant departments of the SAR government to introduce the strategic suggestions of the research report. The focus of the next year's work will also include organizing a series of patriotic education activities. The spokesperson for the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government welcomed the Major Alliance report on the same day, pointing out that the direction of the proposed measures to enhance the international aviation hub is consistent with the policy goal of the government to enhance the long-term competitiveness of the Hong Kong aviation industry, and will carefully consider and study with the Hong Kong Airport Authority and relevant stakeholders. The Hong Kong Renewal Alliance was established on May 5, 2020, with the aim of uniting people from all walks of life in Hong Kong, consolidating social consensus, adhering to "one country, two systems", finding a way out for Hong Kong, and jointly building a stable and prosperous Hong Kong.
