In terms of clinical trials, the SAR government will establish the "Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute" in the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone this year, providing a clinical trial support platform for pharmaceutical research and development institutions. World Health Organization Director General Tedros said in a video speech that as the risk of disease outbreaks and epidemics continues to rise, innovation in medical research and development is crucial. The World Health Organization is willing to support countries and regions in utilizing innovative technologies to provide assistance and bring a healthier, safer, and more equitable world to humanity. This two-day forum is one of the key activities of the third International Medical and Health Week promoted by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council. Another key event held at the same time is the 15th Hong Kong International Medical and Health Exhibition, which attracted about 300 exhibitors from 8 countries and regions to participate. A participating company showcased a orthopedic surgical robot on site, which is the first domestically developed hip and knee joint replacement robot all-in-one machine. The company leader stated that they look forward to meeting buyers from different countries and regions during the exhibition, seeking more cooperation opportunities, and expanding their business overseas through Hong Kong. The third International Medical and Health Week, which lasts for 16 days, will also be held on the same day.
