At the launch ceremony, Yuan Da stated that special actions for energy conservation and carbon reduction in key areas and industries such as construction, steel, refining, synthetic ammonia, electrolytic aluminum, cement, and data centers will be carried out, and the low-carbon transformation and construction of coal-fired power will continue to be promoted. Taking the improvement of energy consumption, emissions, technology and other standards as the driving force, combined with equipment updates and consumer goods exchange, expanding effective investment, and renovating old residential areas, we will accelerate the energy-saving and carbon reduction transformation in key areas. We will coordinate investment within the central budget, extra long term special treasury bond and other funds, and actively support energy conservation and carbon reduction projects. Since the 14th Five Year Plan, China has achieved positive results in energy conservation and carbon reduction. Yuan Da disclosed a set of data: in the first three years of the 14th Five Year Plan, after deducting the consumption of raw material energy and non fossil energy, the cumulative energy consumption intensity in China decreased by about 7.3%, which is equivalent to a reduction in the consumption of fossil energy by about 340 million tons of standard coal and a reduction in the emission of carbon dioxide by about 900 million tons; The national completion of the "three transformations and linkage" of coal-fired power units has exceeded 700 million kilowatts, and the average coal consumption for thermal power supply has decreased by 3.5 grams of standard coal per kilowatt hour; The energy-saving renovation of existing urban buildings has exceeded 300 million square meters, and the energy consumption per unit building area of public institutions has decreased by about 3%. As of the first quarter of this year, the installed capacity of renewable energy in China has reached 1.58 billion kilowatts, accounting for about 40% of the world's total. He said that while seeing the achievements of energy conservation and carbon reduction work, it is also important to note that the current situation of energy conservation and carbon reduction in China and some regions is still quite severe, and achieving the goal of reducing energy intensity in the 14th Five Year Plan is a daunting task. Next, the National Development and Reform Commission will closely monitor the binding indicators for reducing energy consumption intensity during the 14th Five Year Plan period, continuously improve the long-term mechanism for energy conservation and carbon reduction management, and actively create a strong atmosphere for energy conservation and carbon reduction throughout society. At the launch ceremony, the National Development and Reform Commission announced the launch of energy efficiency diagnosis work for key energy consuming units, the National Energy Conservation Center promoted a batch of advanced energy-saving and carbon reduction technology achievements, and the China Institute of Standardization released a progress report on energy-saving and carbon reduction standards. This year's National Energy Conservation Promotion Week will be held from May 13th to 19th, with the theme of "Green Transformation, Energy Conservation Challenge".
