Hong Kong Air Youth League members: Young people should have high emotions and lofty aspirations

"Turn right! Walk in unison!" When I saw 15-year-old Huang Haoxuan, he was practicing Chinese style foot exercises as a commander with his teammates from the Honor Guard Squadron of the Hong Kong Air Youth League (referred to as the "Hong Kong Air Youth League"). In late spring, Hong Kong was humid and hot. In no time, the uniforms of the team members were soaked in sweat, but they still focused on performing the prescribed movements. The concise and sharp sound of commands and powerful footsteps undulated on the training ground, making people pay homage to this group of "young people" (meaning "young people" in Cantonese). Three years ago, Huang Haoxuan joined the Hong Kong Air Youth League due to his passion for firearms. This is a youth uniform group sponsored and supported by the Government Flying Service Team of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Security Bureau. It is committed to building self-confidence and a sense of responsibility among young people through aviation education and leadership training, guiding them to make good career plans, and becoming the new generation of patriotism and love for Hong Kong. Since the beginning of last year, the Hong Kong Air Youth League has comprehensively trained Chinese foot exercises. Huang Haoxuan, who performed well, was selected as the flag raiser at the flag raising ceremony in Golden Bauhinia Square on November 19 last year. Recalling the flag raising, Huang Haoxuan was full of pride. "At that time, he knew that he would raise the national flag in Golden Bauhinia Square. He felt nervous and honored, and felt that this was an acknowledgement of me." He said that his task was to listen carefully to the national anthem, raise the national flag at a specific moment, and ensure that the national flag would be raised to the top of the flagpole at a uniform speed at the end of the national anthem. Before and after the flag raising ceremony, the team members must enter and leave the field with Chinese style foot exercises. In order to do their best, everyone trained specifically for about a month. Although step training is hard, Huang Haoxuan enjoys it. He talked to the reporter about his summarized training experience: "I used to see the People's Liberation Army marching through Tiananmen Square in front of me during the National Day parade on TV, which gave me a very powerful feeling. I think doing Chinese style step exercises must be very imposing and neat enough to make the audience look smart." He looked forward to the opportunity to watch the national flag guard team raise the national flag on Tiananmen Square in the future. On April 13th, the disciplinary forces under the Security Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held an open day event called "National Security Education Day for All". The picture shows members of the Hong Kong Air Youth League showcasing Chinese style walking exercises at the Government Flying Service Open Day event. In addition to training in foot exercises, Huang Haoxuan also participated in the "Aviation Guidance Program" organized by the Hong Kong Air Youth League. The plan invites active pilots from the government flight service team to give classes to members, share interesting flight stories with them, and explain knowledge about airplanes and flight. Huang Haoxuan said that he has set his goal of entering the aviation industry and hopes to join the government flight service team or become a civil aviation pilot when he grows up. "I will take the pilots who teach us as my role models to emulate and pursue." Like Huang Haoxuan, Cui Jiancong, who is studying law at the Faculty of Continuing Education at the University of Hong Kong, is also fascinated by flying. Differently, his interest in aviation came from an experience that his father had talked to him about: a few years ago, his father encountered a person suffering from heatstroke while traveling in the mountains. After receiving the report, the government flight service team quickly rushed to rescue the person and transported them to the hospital by plane. Since that incident, I have been paying attention to the government flight service team. It turns out that they have been doing emergency work. I think this is very challenging and meaningful, and I really want to join
