The world's first targeted drug for Behcet's disease is registered in Russia

According to the Russian Ministry of Health on April 25th, Russia has approved the registration of the world's first targeted drug that can prevent the development of Behcet's disease. The drug was jointly developed by the Pilogov Medical University of the Russian Ministry of Health, the Shemyagin and Ovchenikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian biotechnology company Biocad. Behcet's disease is a systemic, chronic, vasculitis characterized by recurrent oral ulcers, genital ulcers, ophthalmitis, and skin damage.
