At a private school in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, Chinese teacher Hosniya Rezai patiently explains the meaning of radical radicals in Chinese characters to students from the podium. In the classroom, Afghan students listened attentively, not only attracted by Chinese character culture, but also filled with longing for the development opportunities brought by learning Chinese. Rezai entered the Confucius Institute at Kabul University in 2014 to study Chinese, and the following year went to Taiyuan University of Technology to pursue a bachelor's degree. After graduating in 2019, he returned to his homeland Afghanistan and worked as a Chinese teacher, while also doing various translation work in his spare time. "Helping those who want to study or do business in China to learn Chinese has given me a great sense of achievement," Rezai said. Since its establishment in January 2008, the Confucius Institute at Kabul University has trained hundreds or even thousands of outstanding Chinese language talents like Rezai. After completing their studies, they devoted themselves to culture, foreign trade and other fields, contributing to the friendly exchanges between Afghanistan and China and the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". As a cooperative institution with China, Taiyuan University of Technology has provided a large number of excellent teachers to the Confucius Institute of Kabul University and has also received many Afghan students studying in China. Farzad Farhad (Chinese name Tianlei) is one of them. After graduating from Taiyuan University of Technology in June 2020, Tian Lei chose to stay in China to start a business and engage in import and export trade. Recently, he has been traveling to Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong and other places, busy exporting Chinese electronic products overseas. "The quality of products made in China is very good, which has great commercial potential behind it. Unfortunately, many foreign consumers are not aware of it," said Tianlei. In order to help overseas customers better understand Chinese products, Tianlei has built its own e-commerce platform and launched evaluation videos for each product on the shelves, making it convenient for customers to have a clear and detailed understanding of product features and advantages. In the first few months of entrepreneurship, Tianlei's platform had already attracted over 20 Chinese companies and attracted over 1 million overseas fans. The parents who once persuaded Tianlei to go home are no longer worried about his life. This young man, who is about to turn 27, has adapted to the pace of doing business in China and enjoys the experience of starting a business in China. He said, "This entrepreneurial experience will be the most precious asset of my life. Now I have a good start, and I will continue to work hard in the future." Wei Guoqiang, the Chinese dean of the Confucius Institute at Kabul University, is very proud of the achievements made by Afghan students. He stated that in order to enhance friendly understanding and exchanges between the two peoples, the Confucius Institute will set up Chinese language teaching points in more areas such as western and southern Afghanistan in the future, and provide assistance for Afghan youth to study in China. According to Wei Guoqiang, as of April this year, the Confucius Institute at the University of Kabul has recruited a total of 739 students and trained 356 undergraduate graduates, of which 238 have obtained degree certificates from the University of Kabul and 118 have obtained certificates from the South Asian Teaching Class of Taiyuan University of Technology. In addition, the short-term training courses offered by Confucius Institute and its affiliated teaching points have trained approximately 5600 students. Hamid Gulami, a teacher at the Confucius Institute of Kabul University, said that currently, the institute admits about 50 students annually. The booming development of the Chinese economy is one of the reasons why Afghan students are actively learning Chinese,
