At present, mainstream drug therapy has problems such as poor efficacy and easy induction of toxic side effects, and there is an urgent need to develop safe and effective new treatment methods. It is understood that the meningeal lymphatic vessels are an important pathway for draining the central nervous system and have the ability to clear them β- The function of amyloid protein, which may deteriorate with age or the development of Alzheimer's disease, is considered a potential factor in exacerbating cognitive impairment and nerve damage. Therefore, it is highly feasible to use it as a therapeutic target for age-related cognitive impairment. Therefore, Zhou Feifan's team proposed a treatment strategy to improve neurodegenerative diseases by regulating the function of meningeal lymphatic vessels through light regulation. The research results indicate that using near-infrared laser, non-contact transcranial phototherapy with 808 nanometers for 4 weeks in aging and Alzheimer's disease mice can significantly enhance the function of meningeal lymphatic endothelial cells in mice, thereby improving lymphatic drainage and ultimately promoting pathological relief and cognitive improvement in mice.
