2024-03-15

At the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Spring Festival Gala, a song called "Hello Greater Bay" featured 11 cities, showcasing the profound cultural heritage and humanistic sentiments of the Greater Bay Area. The connectivity of art exhibitions, sharing of cultural resources, and integration of diverse cultures... In the past five years since the release and implementation of the Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (referred to as the Outline), the construction of the Cultural Bay Area has achieved fruitful results, and the cultural soft power of the Bay Area has significantly increased. At present, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao are using culture as a link to jointly build a bridge of integrated development. Over the past five years, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have fully utilized their geographical proximity and cultural affinity to carry out exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as culture and art. They have launched a series of brand cultural exchange activities, promoting cultural integration and promoting people to people communication. The Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Festival has been successfully held for three times, and 11 cities in the Bay Area gather annually under the name of art, sparking a cultural and artistic trend in the Greater Bay Area; Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao jointly hold a series of activities called "Bay Area Cloud and Sound - Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao Akabela Elite Exchange Art Week", which aims to enhance cultural identity and people-oriented communication among young people in the Greater Bay Area and across the Taiwan Strait through various forms; The influence of numerous cultural activities such as the Guangzhou Cultural Fair, Hong Kong Book Fair, and Macao Art Festival is constantly expanding, working together to showcase the diverse cultural connotations and cultural charm of the Greater Bay Area. At the beginning of this year, the first modern Cantonese opera co produced by Zhuhai and Macao, "Silent Merit," was performed at the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theater. As an important achievement of the cultural exchange activities between Zhuhai and Macau, this drama invites literary and artistic workers from both regions to participate together, bringing back the story of the "Red Doctor" Ke Lin, who won the trust and love of the people of Macau with his medical skills, dedication, and personal charm in the 1930s and 1940s. "Since the launch of the 'Cultural Walk Together' exchange activity between Zhuhai and Macao, the two regions have focused on cultural exchange, boutique creation, and cultural brand building, and engaged in multi field cooperation to promote cultural exchange and integration between compatriots in the two regions, bringing them closer together." Zou Jianhong, the producer of the drama and the general manager of Zhuhai Performing Arts Group, introduced that this year Zhuhai and Macao will continue to increase their joint creative efforts and invite Hong Kong teams to participate, bringing more exciting cultural exchange activities and artistic works to the audience in the Greater Bay Area. The Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is the birthplace of Lingnan culture, with rich world cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage resources. Since the release and implementation of the Outline, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have actively protected and promoted cultural relics, world cultural heritage, and intangible cultural heritage in the Bay Area. They have jointly organized multiple exhibitions, performances, and other related activities to jointly promote the inheritance and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture. In recent years, intangible cultural heritage projects in the Greater Bay Area, such as Cantonese opera, dragon boat racing, martial arts, and lion dance, have frequently entered the public eye through artistic works and other means. In January of this year, the dance drama "Wing Chun", created and performed by Shenzhen Opera and Dance Theatre, was performed in Hong Kong for five consecutive times. The perfect integration of dance and martial arts, as well as the "dual intangible cultural heritage" of Wing Chun and Xiang Yun Sha, showcased the new traditional culture of the Greater Bay Area to Hong Kong audiences.
