The results showed that 91 signatures were invalid and met the relevant regulations for registering as presidential candidates. According to the Russian election law, presidential candidates can participate in two ways: political party nomination and self recommendation. Political parties elect candidates at their respective congresses; Independent candidates must convene an advocacy group of no less than 500 people and collect signatures from at least 300000 supporters.
