On January 22, the Fuyi Tunnel of the Xi'an Yan'an high-speed railway was successfully completed, providing strong support for the completion and operation of the entire Xiyan high-speed railway project in October 2025. The Fuyi Tunnel is located in Luochuan County, Yan'an City. It started construction in October 2021 and has a total length of 3760 meters. It is a single hole double track tunnel with a maximum burial depth of about 140 meters. The tunnel passes through the loess ridge and gully area, with complex geological conditions and large terrain undulations along the line. The overall shape is high in the middle and low at both ends, belonging to a strong water rich area. The hydrogeological conditions are poor, and the stability of the surrounding rock passing through the tunnel is poor. There are multiple sections with fault fracture zones, dense joints, and lithological boundaries. The soil rock interface in the water rich section is long, and the construction difficulty is high, with extremely high safety risks. After the completion and opening of the Xiyan high-speed railway, the shortest train travel time from Xi'an to Yan'an will be shortened from the current 2.5 hours to about 1 hour, greatly facilitating the travel of people along the line.
