How do humans and bacteria coexist? "93 people" lead the planning and launch of science popularization micro films

How do bacteria affect health? Why can't antibiotics be used casually when I have a fever? Why are antibiotics powerless against super resistant bacteria? Where is the future path for people facing the threat of super resistant bacteria? Recently, the science popularization micro film "Bacteria and Humans - Wandering Bacteria", planned and completed by Chen Daijie, a member of the 93 Society, a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the leader of the "Discovery and Mechanism Research of New Antibiotics" research group at the School of Pharmacy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was officially launched. The film revolves around the interplay between bacteria and humans, using animation production combined with real-life filming to tell a vivid, interesting, and thrilling story of humans overcoming the superbug Acinetobacter baumannii infection, attempting to provide some reference for people to understand these issues. Chen Daijie and his team are developing antibiotics against drug-resistant bacteria. The technological innovation and popularization of science provided by Shanghai Jiusan Society are the "two wings" for achieving innovative development, as well as the dual mission of science and technology workers. Chen Daijie firmly believes that scientific knowledge should step out of the ivory tower and enter the hearts of readers. Based on long-term research in the fields of life sciences, pharmacy, and medicine, Chen Daijie noticed that although bacteria are often seen as enemies threatening health and people often turn pale when talking about them, the relationship between humans and bacteria is actually a complex issue, and even bacteria are beneficial to humans in many ways. So, Chen Daijie decided to write a book that comprehensively showcased the relationship between bacteria and humans, discussing their harm as enemies and showcasing their contributions to humanity as friends. "A Brief History of Bacteria" was born and won honors such as Excellent Science Popularization Work by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Second Prize Science Popularization Work of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. With the publication and reprint of "A Brief History of Bacteria", as well as the successive release of English and Arabic versions, Chen Daijie saw the potential for scientific knowledge to spread among the public. Gradually, Chen Daijie realized that the descriptions in text were still limited. If these knowledge could be presented in a more intuitive way, it would be more influential. So, the idea came up to shoot this microfilm. It is reported that the science popularization micro film is adapted from "A Brief History of Bacteria", with Chen Daijie and Professor Zhu Jianwei from Shanghai Jiao Tong University serving as the general scientific advisor, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and jointly produced by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Animation Public Technology Service Platform Operation Management Co., Ltd. Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the CAE Member, said: "This is a popular science work that shows the game between bacteria and people, and controls the occurrence, development and spread of super drug resistant bacteria."
