To further activate and expand the winter and spring tourism market, and continuously enrich the supply of winter and spring tourism market, Dunhuang City has launched winter and spring tourism preferential policies. From December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, students from all over the country will be exempt from admission to municipal scenic spots; The New Year holiday, the Spring Festival holiday and the Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival) Festival are free for all tourists. The number of open caves in the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang increased from 8 to 12. In addition, relying on rich cultural relics and natural landscapes, Dunhuang City vigorously develops cultural research and learning, establishes the Dunhuang Cultural Research Season Alliance, and builds 16 research bases such as Mogao Academy and Mingsha Academy. It also launches unique Dunhuang research products such as mural copying and Han Jian Academy, allowing tourists to further experience the infinite charm of Dunhuang culture while visiting.
