The seminar on "Future oriented Principal Space Leadership Construction" was held

2023-12-11

Recently, the seminar on "Building Leadership in Principal Space for the Future" was held in Beijing. Nearly 500 primary and secondary school principals and managers from Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Yunnan and other regions gathered in Beijing to discuss the spatial construction and layout of primary and secondary schools, as well as the aesthetic logic and educational value contained in educational buildings. Zhang Shufang, Deputy Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of Beijing Education Integrated Media Center, stated in her speech that primary and secondary schools bear the important mission of cultivating socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. In the new stage of promoting high-quality and connotative development of basic education, school spatial construction has become an important content to improve education quality, and also poses new challenges to the spatial leadership of primary and secondary school principals. She hopes that this seminar can effectively help attending principals and school managers further clarify the focus, direction, and path of school spatial leadership, and enhance their understanding of spatial leadership. Zhang Dongjiao, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Education Department of Beijing Normal University, explained the aesthetics of contemporary school management from three dimensions: goodness, intuition, and harmony. She mentioned that high-quality school management can lead to a better educational life. Based on his own participation and observation in the reconstruction of school space, Liu Keqin, former principal of Beijing Zhongguancun Third Primary School and national supervisor, proposed that future campus construction needs to undergo changes and overall design, creating diverse and adjustable learning spaces to better serve the growth and development of teachers and students and adapt to educational and teaching changes. Wang Xiaogong, Executive Vice President of the Institute of Education Architecture and Industrial Development, believes that the design of every campus should strive to create a student-centered, conducive to student exchange, learning, and sustainable growth environment, making campus architecture a paradise for students to learn and live. At the seminar, guests such as Huang Chun, the founding principal of Xiong'an Campus of Beijing No. 4 Middle School, Shan Mingfang, the secretary and principal of the Party Branch of Dayang Center School in Linhai City, Zhejiang Province, Hu Zhenfang, the secretary and principal of Qiyi Primary School in Haidian District, Beijing, and Yang Shuishui, the secretary and principal of the Party Branch of Hangzhou Youth Middle School, also presented their respective educational experiences and management practices through vivid case studies and shared their ideological concepts, specific paths, and action strategies in the overall planning and spatial construction of the school with the attendees. It is reported that this seminar is hosted by the Beijing Education Integrated Media Center, the Journal of Primary and Secondary School Management, and the Social Affairs Bureau of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is also organized by the School of Beijing Second Middle School Economic Development Zone and the Yizhuang New City School affiliated with the People's Congress. The seminar also specially arranged the "on-site interpretation of the campus" section, allowing principals to step out of the venue and delve deep into the campus, measure with their legs, touch with their hands, discover with their eyes, and experience the campus construction and educational space of the two activity hosting schools up close.
