A survey of over 2000 centenarians found that these characteristics and longevity secrets are worth learning from

Everyone wants to live a long and healthy life. Only centenarians have the most say in how to live a healthy life beyond the age of 100. In 2013, Jiangsu People's Publishing House published the book "Celebrating Centenary: The Charm of Jiangsu's Longevity Elderly", which summarized the characteristics and ways of longevity of over 2000 centenarians in Jiangsu from the aspects of natural environment, social security, lifestyle habits, and emotional regulation. From a gender perspective: Women have a longer lifespan advantage. Among the 2095 centenarians, there are only 424 male birthday stars, accounting for only about 1/4 of female birthday stars. All 9 birthday stars aged 110 and above are women; The highest age for male birthday stars is 109 years old, while there are 12 female birthday stars at 109 years old. This is basically consistent with the normal lifespan trend of men and women, but it further reflects that as women age, they have a longer lifespan advantage, which is more pronounced in the age group of 100 and above. From a family perspective: it is related to the longevity of the previous generation. People usually find that whichever family has a centenary star, most of the people in that family also live a long life. This survey proves this point. Over 65% of centenarians have mothers over 80 years old, while over 70% have fathers over 80 years old; 16.1% of grandparents have a lifespan of over 90 years old, while 13.8% of grandparents have a lifespan of over 90 years old, both of which are higher than the normal population, indicating a certain relationship between longevity and the lifespan of their elders. Moreover, it has been found that family members outside the blood relationship of the centenary star, and even adopted children, have a relatively long lifespan, which may be related to factors such as family culture, lifestyle habits, and social atmosphere. From the perspective of birth: the oldest person in the family often lives the longest. The survey found that 2.7% of centenarians are only children, and nearly 80% of the elderly have 2-5 brothers and sisters. Excluding only children, among centenarians, the eldest in the family is generally the longest lived, followed by the second and third in the family. Life is very optimistic, and it is important to think about everything. A person's lifespan is influenced by basic factors such as economy, healthcare, society, and natural environment, but it is also closely related to their personality, diet, activities, genetics, family, and so on. A survey shows that the economic and physical condition of centenarians in Jiangsu is not as good as that of the general population, but their life satisfaction and happiness are higher than that of the general population. When asked about "being able to think about anything," about two-thirds of centenarians gave a very positive answer, while only 5.8% of the elderly said they couldn't think about it. In addition, most centenarians are very confident. "Their own affairs are the final say", but they are not stubborn. They are good at listening to the opinions of their families, which shows that their attitude towards life is very tolerant. Moderate exercise, not excessive exercise. Although life lies in exercise, excessive exercise may not be beneficial to health. According to the survey, the vast majority of centenarians in Jiangsu, whether in the past or present, do not exercise regularly. This may be related to the era and culture in which the elderly lived at that time. But this also reminds us to exercise moderately and reasonably, and not to exercise excessively. Among all the longevity codes of centenarians, the love for eating soy products has traces of longevity
