Guangdong releases the group standard for "Prefabricated Soup Canned Food"

On November 29th, the Guangdong Standardization Association released the group standard "Prefabricated Vegetable Soup Canned Food". The expert group reviewed and believed that the group standard was in line with the market and consumer demand, and reflected the actual technological progress of the soup canned food industry. The quality and technical indicators specified were both progressiveness and applicable. The release and implementation of the group standard had a technical support and certain role in promoting the high-quality development of the prefabricated soup canned food industry. Previously, there was no unified and specialized standard for canned soup, which is one of the main varieties of pre made dishes. However, there has never been a unified specialized standard for canned soup products. There are two related standards, one is GB7098-2015 National Food Safety Standard for Canned Food, which does not have specific provisions for canned soup products; The second is the industry standard NY/T2105-2021 "Green Food Soup Canned", which does not cover all categories of soup canned products. Moreover, companies have reported that there is still significant room for improvement in the technical indicators specified in the above two standards. In this context, the technical indicators of canned soup products appearing in the market are uneven, and product quality is mixed. In order to ensure and promote the healthy and high-quality development of canned soup food, Jiangmen Industrial Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. of Guangdong Academy of Sciences leads and collaborates with the Testing and Analysis Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences (Guangzhou Analysis and Testing Center, China), Jiangmen Jiangfan Aquatic Products Factory Co., Ltd., Dolphin Fresh Food Co., Ltd., and Duruan Town Agricultural Comprehensive Service Center in Pengjiang District, Jiangmen City to form a writing group, After extensive investigation and extensive solicitation of opinions, the above-mentioned group standards have been developed. The pollutant control indicators are stricter than the national standard requirements. This group standard has improved the coverage range of standard objects and the scope of content regulations. The group label clearly stipulates that canned soup includes various products processed with livestock and poultry meat and its by-products, aquatic animals and their by-products, edible mushrooms, vegetables, beans, grains, fruits, milk, nuts and seeds or algae as the main raw materials, covering a wide and comprehensive range. For the limit control of histamine that may be produced during the processing of aquatic products, the previous relevant standards only stipulated the canned mackerel, scad and sardine. The group logo will expand its scope to all canned products of high histamine fish, including mackerel, scad, mackerel, bonito, tuna, saury, mackerel, herring, sardine and other green skin red meat sea fish. The special heating package configured for self heating canned products is controlled as part of the product, and it is stipulated that the special heating package should comply with relevant standards. The group logo has also added important quality indicator regulations. The content of canned soup reflects the true content of the product, and the group label has added the requirement for solid content indicators, which is one of the important quality indicators for the product assessment and clear labeling requirements. The limit control of pollutants is a core technical indicator related to food safety. The group standard's limit control indicators of pollutants in soup cans, including lead, tin, and polychlorinated biphenyls, are all stricter than the requirements of the national standard, which is obviously progressiveness.
