The proportion of areas with good water quality in the nearshore sea national examination section was 89.6%. The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment introduced that it is mainly due to the comprehensive implementation of the specific deployment of the Provincial Party Committee "1310" this year, guided by the construction of a green and beautiful Guangdong ecology, continuously deepening the battle against pollution prevention and control, coordinating the promotion of carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth, and promoting high-quality development through high-level protection. In order to meet the standards for air quality, Guangdong has continued to improve the quality of centralized drinking water sources in various cities and regions since the beginning of this year. In terms of governance ideas, it has implemented coordinated emission reduction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides. On the one hand, targeting key industries, we will promote the ultra-low emission transformation of the steel and cement industries throughout the province, carry out in-depth governance of key industries such as glass, petroleum, and chemical, and complete the inspection and rectification of over 6200 volatile organic liquid storage tanks. At the same time, we will carry out air pollution control assistance for "Ten Hundred Thousand Enterprises" and practical training in arena competitions to increase precision air pollution prevention and control efforts. In terms of water environment, since the beginning of this year, the Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment has organized a technical team to conduct frontline inspections, on-site inspections, and technical guidance on key national examination sections. The water quality of the primary tributary of the water body where the national examination section is located has been closely monitored and comprehensively improved. This year, Guangdong has promoted "investigation, measurement, tracing, and treatment" for the discharge outlets into the river, promoting the tracing and rectification of the causes of total nitrogen reduction. At the same time, this year, the province has officially established a graded management system for drinking water source protection zones. As of October, the water quality of centralized drinking water sources in 87 prefecture level and above cities in the province has remained 100% up to standard. Guangdong has also continued to fight well in the battle to defend the Pure Land this year. Among them, we will strengthen the prevention and control of soil pollution at the source of cultivated land, strengthen the prevention and control of land use risks for enterprises in production, and establish and publicly disclose a list of key polluting units for groundwater pollution prevention and control. We will also initiate leakage investigations and monitor the surrounding groundwater environment.
