With the continuous innovation and development of technology, we have entered the era of "big science" characterized by interdisciplinary integration. The research paradigm and organizational model have undergone tremendous changes, and the research paradigm and thinking mode of a single discipline are difficult to achieve significant breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation and solve complex problems. Interdisciplinary integration has become an important source of innovation. In the era of "big science", it is necessary to adhere to the liberation of the mind, strengthen systematic thinking, and build a more scientific, smooth, and efficient institutional mechanism by clarifying various relationships and functional boundaries, creating a good environment for interdisciplinary exploration of the forefront of science and technology. One is to clarify the relationship between the college and research institutions, clarify the functional positioning of the college and research institutions. The college focuses on talent cultivation, discipline construction, and exploratory research, while the research institutions focus on organized research and interdisciplinary research. The second is to streamline the relationship between research institutions, classify and explore the development of management methods based on the characteristics and positioning of different types of research institutions such as national and provincial platforms, school entities and virtual research institutions, and remote research institutions, plan to establish cutting-edge cross research institutes, and establish a sound management system for research institutions. The third is to improve the school management system and mechanism, by establishing a domestic cooperation committee and a domestic cooperation department, coordinating domestic cooperation affairs of the school, promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements, and enhancing the ability to serve national and local economic and social development. Many significant original achievements are rooted in deep foundational research and arise from interdisciplinary fields. Universities have advantages in basic research and comprehensive disciplines, and should vigorously promote interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, exploring the forefront of innovation. Wuhan University has implemented the "Basic Discipline Summit Plan" and "Interdisciplinary Convergence Plan" to strengthen basic disciplines, strengthen interdisciplinary integration, establish a disciplinary convergence guidance mechanism centered on major issues, improve the efficient linkage mechanism, employment mechanism, and talent training mechanism of scientific research platforms that are suitable for interdisciplinary integration, and build a good ecology conducive to interdisciplinary integration; Focusing on the urgent needs of national strategy and economic and social development, breaking down disciplinary barriers, actively laying out interdisciplinary majors, and cultivating disciplinary growth points. We have established a group of advantageous and characteristic disciplines, including modern medicine and major disease prevention and control, mathematics and artificial intelligence, integrated circuits and intelligent manufacturing, archaeology and cultural inheritance, social governance and rural revitalization, targeting national strategic needs and cutting-edge fields such as life and health, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, early civilization, and national governance. We are exploring paths for interdisciplinary and composite talents and organized scientific research; Through the cross integration of the "digital humanities" direction, we will promote the construction of "new humanities", establish the Big Data Research Institute of Wuhan University, fully leverage the traditional advantages of philosophy and social sciences, the advantages of digital technology in disciplines such as surveying and remote sensing, and the advantages of information resource management, and cultivate new academic growth points and interdisciplinary research teams; Taking the "Medicine+X" interdisciplinary plan as the starting point, we will vigorously promote the construction of "new medical disciplines" and carry out the "Medical Difficulties" initiative
