According to the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has recently released a new batch of national important wetlands lists. The Kongjiang National Wetland Park in Guangdong has been successfully selected, making it the only national important wetland located in Guangdong in this batch of lists. It is reported that as of now, Guangdong Province has 6 internationally important wetlands, 3 nationally important wetlands, 18 provincial-level important wetlands, 27 national wetland parks, 6 provincial-level wetland parks, 15 demonstration sites for small and micro wetland construction, and 110 wetland type natural reserves. Among them, the number of internationally important wetlands ranks second in the country. The Guangdong Kongjiang National Wetland Park is located in the source area of the Beijiang River, under the jurisdiction of Nanxiong City, Guangdong Province. The main body is the Kongjiang Reservoir, with a total area of 1667.9 hectares and a wetland area of 639.2 hectares. The park is dotted with numerous islands, not only forming a unique scenery of Baidao Lake surrounded by mountains and rivers, but also the largest and important wetland in Guangdong Province's Danxia landform. In recent years, Guangdong Kongjiang National Wetland Park has continuously increased its efforts in wetland protection and restoration, implementing a series of protection and restoration projects such as the restoration and restoration of wild animal and plant habitats. It has severely cracked down on illegal occupation of wetlands, illegal hunting of wild animals, wild swimming, fishing, and picnics that damage the wetland ecological environment. It has also established meteorological, hydrological, and other monitoring stations and a comprehensive wetland monitoring information system, Fully ensure the ecological safety of wetlands and enhance their ecological functions. According to statistics, as of now, the wetland park has promoted the restoration and restoration of over 3300 acres of wetland area, and currently records the distribution of 34 species of national key protected wildlife. Especially from January to April each year, over 20000 water birds regularly inhabit the park, making it an excellent habitat and breeding ground for migratory water birds. Through the implementation of various work measures, the construction, protection, and management level of Kongjiang National Wetland Park has greatly improved.
