Through cross-border e-commerce, the lengthy circulation process of traditional foreign trade has been greatly reduced, and county-level specialty products can directly reach global end users. From August to September this year, the Guangdong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, in collaboration with the Guangdong Provincial Live E-commerce Association, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Alibaba International Digital Business Group, conducted a special research. In 2022, the import and export value of cross-border e-commerce in Guangdong reached 645.4 billion yuan, expanding nearly 43 times in size in 8 years, with an average annual growth rate of 72%, accounting for 31% of the national total, ranking first. At present, Guangdong has formed a cross-border e-commerce industry cluster system with central cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen as the core, but the foundation for developing cross-border e-commerce in counties in the eastern and northwestern regions of Guangdong is still relatively weak.
