On November 1, 2023, at the site of the Wenzhong Road Elevated Bridge in Hefei, Anhui Province (crossing the Hefei East Station swivel bridge node), a 13000 ton swivel bridge was rotated 85 degrees counterclockwise under the action of traction equipment to reach the designated position, achieving precise positioning. The Wenzhong Road Cross Hefei East Station Swivel Bridge is the first asymmetric widened hanging basket construction swivel beam in China. The north and south sections of the bridge will be spliced and formed after completing the rotation in the air. The bridge spans 8 lines, including the Huainan Line and Luodong Line, which are the busiest freight lines at Hefei East Station. The swivel bridge has a total span of 257 meters and a total weight of 34000 tons, divided into two swivel beams. The cantilever beam that was rotated on that day was 91.3 meters long and weighed 13000 tons, achieving precise positioning during the 120 minute "skylight point" period of railway blockade. After the completion of the Wenzhong Road project, the existing road will be upgraded to an urban elevated expressway, which will directly reach the sub central area of Shaoquan Lake City and connect to the North Outer Ring Expressway (Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway) to the north, forming an important channel for external communication.
