This morning, the Navy's Qi Jiguang successfully completed her overseas internship and mission to visit Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji, and returned to a military port in Qingdao. Since its departure on September 4th, the Qi Jiguang ship has carried over 300 students from the Naval Engineering University, Naval Submarine Academy, and Naval Aviation University, sailing through nine sea areas including the Java Sea, Coral Sea, and Philippine Sea, and passing through six strait waterways, including the Sunda Strait, Longmu Strait, and Torres Strait, with a total voyage of over 14000 nautical miles. During the mission, all interns completed training on seven major competency indicators, including strategic and professional abilities, as well as professional group training, department service, ship management, collision avoidance, and international law teaching and training. They also passed more than 10 joint training exams as "quasi ship officers". Ten naval trainees from five countries including Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji participated in the training on board the ship.
