Research shows that 85% of patients with chronic pain experience severe depression, and experts believe that multiple methods can treat pain

In the face of chronic pain, the traditional concept of 'tolerance is enough' has been completely overturned. Modern medical concepts recognize that chronic pain itself is a disease, and eliminating chronic pain is the fundamental right of every patient. With the continuous development of medical technology, chronic pain has gradually achieved diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management. On October 17th, at the 2023 "China Pain Week" Shanghai Health Lecture Hall event organized by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, the Shanghai Health Promotion Commission Office, and the Shanghai Health Promotion Center, organized by the Baoshan District Health Commission and the Baoshan District Disease Prevention and Control Center, Ma Ke, Director of Pain Department at Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Zheng Yongjun, Director of Pain Department at East China Hospital, shared the diagnosis Multiple "black technologies" for treating chronic pain help everyone understand pain correctly, value pain, and face it directly. Pain includes acute pain and chronic pain, among which acute pain is called "good pain". Why is this? Zheng Yongjun introduced that when acute pain occurs, patients usually go to the hospital for treatment due to pain, which is known as "good pain". Chronic pain, known as' bad pain ', often lasts for more than 3 months and is difficult to treat, causing damage to the patient's physical and mental health and quality of life. In addition, chronic pain often accompanies psychological problems, including depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, etc. Research data shows that 85% of chronic pain patients are severely depressed, and 32% of chronic pain patients have a tendency to commit suicide. Therefore, it is necessary to attach importance to and actively treat and manage chronic pain. Infrared thermal imaging allows pain to grow without escape, such as pain, headache, childbirth pain, and elderly pain... From birth to aging, pain almost accompanies a person's entire life. In China, the incidence rate of chronic pain is high, the number of patients is huge, and the trend is rapid growth and younger age. The more common pain is skeletal muscle pain, neuropathic pain, cancer pain and postoperative chronic pain. For pain, many patients struggle to find the root cause and can only passively respond. Nowadays, with the help of infrared thermography, the root cause of pain is nowhere to hide. "Zheng Yongjun introduced that infrared thermography can truly achieve pain visualization, providing a new and scientific visual tool for clinical evaluation of pain. It can display the subtle temperature difference changes in the affected area through a color image of the human body temperature distribution, thereby generating a "human pain map", namely an infrared thermal image, and achieving pain visualization. This allows for intuitive analysis of the location and range of body lesions, assisting in locating pain points. That is to say, any disease that causes thermal changes in human tissues can be examined using infrared thermal imaging technology. Spinal cord electrical stimulation can alleviate chronic refractory pain. In addition to drug therapy, minimally invasive intervention therapy for chronic pain has also achieved clinical benefits. Zheng Yongjun introduced that there are many minimally invasive interventional treatment methods for chronic pain, including nerve block technology, trigger point acupuncture technology, buried thread intervention technology, and intervertebral foramen mirror technology. Among them, spinal cord electrical stimulation therapy is currently internationally recognized as an advanced treatment for chronic refractory pain, which can treat chronic refractory low back and leg pain, complex local pain syndrome, and peripheral ischemic pain
