On October 11, 2023, the Chinese government's Middle East envoy Zhai Jun had a phone conversation with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, Jado, regarding the situation between Palestine and Israel. Zhai Jun expressed that China is deeply saddened by the escalating conflict in the current Palestinian Israeli situation, which has caused many innocent civilian casualties, and expresses deep concern about the serious deterioration of Palestinian security and humanitarian situation. The top priority is to immediately cease fire and protect civilians. The international community should play a practical role in jointly promoting a cooling of the situation and providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. The cyclical way to quell the Palestinian Israeli conflict lies in returning to the "two-state solution", resuming peace talks, establishing an independent Palestinian state, and achieving peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel. China will continue to promote a ceasefire and end violence, help alleviate humanitarian crises, actively promote peace talks, and play a constructive role in promoting a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
