Heroes never go far, and monuments endure forever in the world - Remembering the heroic spirit of the people who shed blood on the battlefield. On Monday, "The heroic spirit of heaven and earth is still majestic for thousands of years." In the long river of time, countless revolutionary martyrs are unwavering and tireless, in order to strive for national independence and people's liberation, achieve national prosperity and people's happiness, pour blood on ideals, defend faith with life, and build immortal spiritual monuments. The mountains and rivers are safe and sound, and the British name will be passed down forever. The smoke of war has long dissipated, but memories will not dim. No matter when and where, their deeds and spirit will always be a powerful force that inspires us to move forward courageously. On the occasion of the 10th Martyrs' Day, in order to remember the achievements of the martyrs, commemorate their heroic names, and inherit their spirit, this edition selects the touching deeds of four revolutionary martyrs from different periods to pay tribute to and learn from them together with readers. During the Long March, Chen Shuxiang shed his last drop of blood for the Soviet New China. Figure ①: Statue of Chen Shuxiang. Martyrs' Life: Chen Shuxiang, born in January 1905 in Changsha County, Hunan Province. In September 1927, Chen Shuxiang joined the Autumn Harvest Uprising on the Hunan Jiangxi border led by Mao Zedong, and soon joined the CPC. In 1934, during the Xiangjiang Campaign, Chen Shuxiang was heavily injured and unfortunately captured while crossing the river to cover for the main force of the Central Red Army. On the way to Changsha, Chen Shuxiang took advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness and died heartbroken at the age of only 29. In October 1934, Chen Shuxiang led the Red 34th Division to participate in the Long March of the Central Red Army and served as the overall guard of the entire army. Since late October, the Red 34th Division has been operating in the areas of Gupi, Rucheng, and Lingxiu, stubbornly blocking the pursuit forces of the Guangdong and Hunan armies, and covering the breakthrough of the three blockade lines of the Kuomintang army by the Central Red Army. The infuriated enemy quickly established a fourth blockade line relying on the Xiangjiang River, vowing to bury the main force of the Red Army here. Faced with the severe situation of being blocked by rivers in front and followed closely by heavy troops, the Red 34th Division once again took on the heavy responsibility of intercepting the enemy. Liu Bocheng, the Chief of Staff of the Red 5th Army Corps, specifically found Chen Shuxiang and personally issued combat orders to him. Chen Shuxiang faced such a heavy burden without any fear, and on behalf of all the officers and soldiers of the Red 34th Division, expressed his determination to Liu Bocheng. At this time, there were still over 80000 members of the Central Red Army, and it would take a considerable amount of time to cross the Xiang River. On November 27th, the main force of the Red Army began to cross the river, and Chen Shuxiang led his troops to launch an arduous resistance battle. The Red 34th Division first blocked the enemy in the Wenshi area, and then quickly adjusted its deployment to cope with the approaching enemy from multiple directions while taking advantage of the darkness. On the morning of the 28th, just as dawn broke, enemy planes began to conduct rounds of bombing and reconnaissance, and multiple ground troops launched fierce attacks from three directions. Faced with an enemy more than ten times his own, Chen Shuxiang remained calm and composed, commanding the entire division of officers and soldiers to defend their positions, and withstanding the enemy's repeated charges. They are well aware that if they persist for an extra minute, they can fight for an extra minute for the main force. After four days and five nights of fierce fighting, the central government and most of the Red Army crossed the Xiangjiang River on the afternoon of December 1st, and the Red 34th Division struggled to complete the cover mission. At this moment, the enemy aimed their attacking spear at the besieged Red 34th Division. Until December 3rd
