According to the Hong Kong Productivity Council, from 2022 to 2023, the Council received over 22000 funding applications, with an approved amount of approximately HKD 3.5 billion. Both the number of applications and the approved amount showed a significant increase year-on-year. The Productivity Bureau also holds or participates in multiple online and offline seminars and outreach promotion activities, assisting small and medium-sized enterprises in seeking suitable funding plans and helping them accelerate the practice of intelligent manufacturing, upgrading and transformation. At the sharing meeting, Lin Zhijun introduced to reporters the several funding projects that have received the most applications in the past year. She pointed out that out of the 22000 applications received, "Technology Vouchers" (TVP) were the most popular among small and medium-sized enterprises, and the number of applications received was also the highest, accounting for about 70% of the total applications. The popularity of this plan also indirectly demonstrates the effectiveness of promoting smart city construction in Hong Kong in recent years. Lin Zhijun said that the development of new industries and smart cities is a development direction that the SAR government and the Productivity Bureau are striving to promote, hoping to further improve Hong Kong's productivity and create new peaks. It is reported that "Technology Coupon" is a funding plan to help expand Hong Kong business, supporting non listed local enterprises or institutions to use technology services and solutions to improve productivity or upgrade and transform business processes, thereby strengthening long-term competitiveness.
