The 2023 Guangdong Tourism Expo has come to a successful conclusion

On September 17th, the 2023 Guangdong International Tourism Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Tourism Expo"), hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Center for Cultural and Tourism Development and Guarantee and organized by Lingnan Business Travel Group Guangzhilv, came to a successful conclusion in Guangzhou. The total exhibition area of this year's Travel Expo is about 30000 square meters, with 1500 standard booths and three main theme pavilions: International Culture and Tourism Museum, Culture and Tourism Integration Hall, and Culture and Tourism Consumer Experience Hall. About 3000 exhibitors from over 50 countries and regions, 30 provinces (districts, cities), including 21 cities in the province, participated in the exhibition. During the 3-day exhibition, more than 10 industry associations from both inside and outside the province organized groups, nearly a thousand professional buyers visited and purchased, and more than 30 themed activities were held. According to preliminary statistics, nearly 40000 people have been attracted to participate in the exhibition and visit. International cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation have further deepened. One of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates - Ras Haima, the "Pearl of the Caucasus" - Georgia and other emerging overseas destinations have actively participated in the exhibition. Malta, known as the "backyard of Europe" and the "heart of the Mediterranean", has set up an independent image booth in southern China for the first time, and the national booth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia showcases the charm of the Middle East; Russia's Saint Petersburg, Kamchatka Peninsula, Amur Oblast, and Novgorod Oblast have organized groups to participate in the exhibition, with a strong promotional lineup. International guests poured in, and representatives from countries and regions such as Cuba and Tunisia in China, as well as officials from consulates general of 28 countries in Guangzhou, visited the site of the Travel Expo to participate in museum tours and various themed activities. They fully recognized the successful hosting of the Travel Expo and the achievements of the cultural and tourism industry development in our province. Multiple international cultural exhibitions and characteristic tourism promotion activities have been staged in Saint Petersburg, Tanzania, Malta, Thailand, Georgia, and other countries, providing citizens and tourists with a one-stop understanding and experience of the cultural tourism customs of different countries and regions, effectively promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning between Guangdong and relevant countries and regions. Building a Tourism Benefiting and Convenient Platform This year's Travel Expo has 15 travel agencies and OTAs participating, providing about 100000 tourism discount spots, with a profit margin of over 100 million yuan. The discount products cover six major tourism elements of "food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment", and offer a wonderful cultural and tourism consumption feast to the general public through exhibition and promotion. During the Travel Expo, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism organized the third round of cultural and tourism consumption subsidy activities this year, distributing cultural and tourism consumption vouchers totaling 5 million yuan, which is expected to directly drive tourism consumption of over 25 million yuan. The participating travel agency Guangzhilv stated that sales were booming in the first two days of the exhibition period, and it is expected that the overall revenue in the three days will increase by about 300% compared to 2021. As a major trend in the cultural and tourism industry, the Guangdong Tourism Expo has demonstrated a strong momentum of recovery in the cultural and tourism market. In addition, the Travel Expo innovatively launched the "Guangdong Fashion Youth Exploration Action", which attracted more than 700 young students to sign up for participation. They went to the Travel Expo site to "seek treasure", "play" and "clock in".
