Zhang Guoqing, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, recently conducted research on the support of central enterprises for Tibet's development in Tibet. From the 5th to the 7th, Zhang Guoqing went to Linzhi City and Lhasa City to inspect the construction progress of major energy, transportation and other engineering projects undertaken by central enterprises on site. He also visited the workshops of central enterprise aid projects and plateau industrial enterprises to learn about production and operation, employment promotion, and other situations, and visited and comforted the cadres and employees of central enterprise aid projects in Tibet. He pointed out that in recent years, state-owned central enterprises have conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, pragmatically promoted various assistance work for Tibet, and made important contributions to promoting the economic and social development of Tibet. In the new era and new journey, we should continue to focus on the needs of Tibet and the expectations of the people, fully leverage the advantages and strengths of central enterprises, and continuously improve the effectiveness of aid to Tibet with greater efforts and more practical measures. We need to accelerate the construction of infrastructure such as electricity, communication, and transportation, promote the implementation of a number of major projects, and the completion and operation of a number of major projects, to assist Tibet in building and improving a modern infrastructure system. We should combine the characteristics of Tibet's resource endowment, strengthen industrial assistance to Tibet according to local conditions, deepen and expand the layout of central enterprises in Tibet, support Tibet in cultivating characteristic and advantageous industries, accelerate the promotion of green and low-carbon transformation, and help Tibet continuously enhance its endogenous development momentum. We need to further integrate various assistance resources, make efforts to improve people's livelihoods, benefit the local area, and enhance unity, support Tibet in consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation, comprehensively promote rural revitalization, and help Tibet better serve and integrate into the new development pattern. During the research period, Zhang Guoqing also conducted on-site inspections on safety production and geological disaster prevention and control. He emphasized that the terrain, geology, and climate conditions in Tibet are complex, and there is a high risk of disasters and accidents such as flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and avalanches. We must adhere to coordinated development and safety, with a focus on various ongoing projects, construction camps, and tourist attractions, comprehensively investigate and rectify disaster and accident risk hazards, and ensure the construction safety of major infrastructure and key projects.
