The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government held a welcome ceremony at Hong Kong International Airport on August 23, welcoming the Hong Kong delegation from China to the 2023 East Asian Youth Games in Ulaanbaatar back to Hong Kong. The Chief Assistant Secretary General for Culture, Sports and Tourism (Sports and Leisure), Cheng Qingyun (11th from left in the front row), Assistant Director for Leisure and Cultural Services (9th from right in the front row), Zhang Huiying (9th from right in the front row), and Huang Baoji (11th from right in the front row), the head of the Hong Kong delegation to the 2023 East Asian Youth Games in Ulaanbaatar, took photos with athletes at the welcome ceremony. The Chief Assistant Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism (Sports and Leisure), Cheng Qingyun, and the Assistant Director for Leisure and Cultural Services (Leisure Affairs), Zhang Huiying, arrived to welcome the victorious return of Hong Kong athletes. After several days of competition, the representative team shone brightly in various competitions, winning a total of 22 medals of 2 gold, 6 silver, and 14 bronze. The current East Asian Youth Games were held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from August 16th to 23rd, with over 1500 athletes from nine countries or regions participating. Hong Kong, China sent 145 young athletes aged 15 to 18 to participate in nine sports events, including athletics, badminton, basketball, and three person basketball, esports, football, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.
