The Measures have stipulated the classification and guarantee of maternity medical expenses: firstly, the limit payment standards for maternity medical expenses have been raised. For example, the payment standards for maternity insurance medical expenses in the original Beibu Gulf Economic Zone have been increased by 1500 yuan, reaching 4500 yuan and 5500 yuan, respectively, for single birth and difficult childbirth. Secondly, outpatient prenatal examinations have been added to the maternity insurance coverage. The medical expenses incurred by female employees during outpatient prenatal examinations after pregnancy that meet the payment scope of maternity insurance will be reimbursed by the pooling fund at a rate of 70% during the period, without a minimum payment line. The maximum payment limit of the pooling fund is 1500 yuan. Thirdly, if the medical expenses for diagnosing and treating obstetric and other complications meet the payment scope of basic medical insurance, they can be paid according to the regulations of employee basic medical insurance.
