Macau is currently publicly testing "iris clearance" and "eye brushing" clearance, and it's just around the corner! The first phase of trial operation of the installation of the "Iris Self Service Channel" was successful. In the second quarter of this year, the Public Security Police Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government installed 5 "Iris Self Service Channels" in the departure and entry lobbies at the gate port. To test the stability and reliability of the system, three internal stress tests were conducted in mid June. Subsequently, volunteers from various clubs and organizations were invited to participate in the first phase of trial operation in batches from July 10th to 25th. By collecting feedback from volunteers, the Public Security Police Bureau and the Security Force Affairs Bureau continue to debug the system and optimize the customs clearance experience. After the first phase of system optimization and successful trial operation, "Iris Clearance" has entered the public testing phase and is now ready for larger testing. From 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 15:00 on August 14th to 25th, the "Iris Clearance" will enter the public testing phase, and 10 "Iris Self Service Channels" will be open to pre booked Macau residents for registration and testing use. This test will also be included in the official entry and exit records. Iris recognition technology verifies identity by scanning the human eye, eliminating the need for contact with collection devices during inspection, providing a higher hygiene standard customs clearance mode for entry and exit services. It also solves the problem of some individuals being unable to use self-service customs clearance due to unclear fingerprints, greatly improving the security and efficiency of customs clearance. Iris recognition technology will bring a new customs clearance experience to Macau residents, and combined with the "QR code for customs clearance" within the "One Household Pass", it will achieve full contactless customs clearance.
