The Eye Health Special Committee of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association was established

Eye health involves all age groups and the entire life cycle of individuals, and is an important component of national health. In order to promote the implementation of the Healthy China Strategy and the construction of a healthy Beijing, meet the people's higher demand for eye health, and spread health culture, the Eye Health Special Committee of the Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association was announced to be established in Beijing on July 8, and Professor Han Song, the chief ophthalmologist of Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, was elected as the chairman. Subsequently, an eye health forum with the theme of "integrating resources, collaborative development, and common promotion" was held, attended by nearly a hundred guests from the medical, cultural, and artistic fields, as well as the industry. The conference was chaired by Zhang Guoqing, Secretary General of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, and Xu Xiaoli, Vice President of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, read out the "Decision on Agreeing to Establish the Eye Health Special Committee of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association". The conference elected members of the first leadership team of the Eye Health Special Committee. Professor Han Song was elected as the Chairman; Wang Shaoli, Chief physician of ophthalmology department of Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, and Luo Ling, Chief physician of the PLA Strategic Support Force Characteristic Medical Center, were elected as the vice chairman; Liu Ying, the head of health education of Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, was elected Secretary General. The special committee also specially appointed Guo Changjiang, the former vice president of the Red Cross Society of China, Wang Ningli, the former president of Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, and Liu Fang, the former deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Capital Medical University, as consultants of the special committee on eye health. Xu Dianxiang, Executive Vice President of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, presented a plaque to the special committee, and Xu Xiaoli, Vice President of Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, presented a letter of appointment to newly elected Chairman Han Song. Han Song, the Chairman of the Special Committee, and Guo Changjiang and Liu Fang, the Consultants, issued certificates to the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Special Committee. Xu Dianxiang, Executive Vice President of the Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, presented a certificate to Han Song, Chairman of the Eye Health Special Committee, and consultants Guo Changjiang and Liu Fang, as initiators of the Eye Health Special Committee. Professor Han Song stated in the preparatory work report that with the increasing aging population, rapid socio-economic development, and changes in people's lifestyles, The incidence rate of fundus diseases caused by age-related ophthalmopathy, metabolism related ophthalmopathy and high myopia is increasing, which has become the main blinding ophthalmopathy in China. The establishment of the Eye Health Professional Committee is also in line with the development of the situation and social needs, which can further promote the healthy development of China's eye health field. Under the leadership and support of the Beijing Health Culture Promotion Association, the Eye Health Special Committee will adhere to the principles of industry self-discipline, autonomy, voluntariness, and win-win cooperation, establish an open and service-oriented eye health promotion platform, and promote cooperation and exchange between eye health professional institutions and social resources. Guo Changjiang, former vice president of the Red Cross Society of China, pointed out in his speech that eye health is a major issue related to the future of the country and the nation.
