The first artificially raised female second-generation finless porpoise in China to reach one year old

On June 27, it was the first birthday of the small finless porpoise (No. F9C22) artificially raised by the Baiji Museum of the Institute of Hydrobiology. The Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Institute of Aquatics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Wuhan Baiji Conservation Foundation celebrated the birth of the small finless porpoise in the Baiji Museum. On June 27, 2022, under the supervision of scientific researchers, the Yangtze River finless porpoise "Fujiu" successfully gave birth at around 21:35, with its cub number "F9C22". This is a new achievement in artificial breeding of the Yangtze River finless porpoise (the first female second-generation finless porpoise). According to experts from the Institute of Aquatics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, this little finless porpoise is currently healthy, developing normally, and exhibiting diverse behaviors.
