In 'The Long Season', Wang Yang, after failing the college entrance examination, neither wants to repeat his studies nor wants to work as a lifelong worker at Huagang like his parents. When his mother, Luo Meisu, talked to him, she said this sentence: "Our generation is used to being arranged. We seem to have a circle, walking in the circle step by step, no one asks why, no one has gone out for a stroll, even afraid to step on a line." When the train of the era drove from the 1990s to the present, online live streaming, delivery riders, WeChat, professional game players, new media marketing Fashion buyers... Various new jobs that were perceived by Wang Xiang's generation as' not doing their job 'are constantly emerging, attracting more and more people to join. In sociology, scholars have also begun to classify people engaged in these jobs as "new social classes". At the latest 2nd "New Era and New Social Stratum Development Academic Seminar", the "Research Report on the Development of China's New Social Stratum No.1- Structured, Organized, and Practical Innovation" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was released. This survey was conducted in ten mega cities in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration, and the Chengdu Chongqing urban agglomeration. The main data source was the "New Era Mega City Residents' Living Conditions Survey" conducted in 2019, revealing the latest developments and changes that have occurred more than 20 years after the concept of "new social class" was proposed. Li Peilin, member of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and consultant of the Shanghai New Social Stratum Research Center, said that before the reform and opening up, China's social structure was relatively simple, consisting of "two classes and one stratum", that is, the working class, the peasant class and the intellectual class. In the past 40 years, as social and economic structures have become diverse and complex, significant changes have occurred within the existing social structure. In order to refer to the new social strata and groups that are not easily classified as traditional class classes under new historical conditions, the unique sociological concept of "new social strata" in China has emerged. Zhang Haidong, a professor at the School of Sociology at Shanghai University and executive director of the Shanghai New Social Stratum Research Center, one of the participants in the report, said that in a narrow sense, the new social strata include four groups: management and technical personnel of private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises, employees of intermediary and social organizations, freelancers, and new media practitioners. The latest data shows that the total number of these four groups in 2021 was about 91 million, an increase of about 19 million compared to 2016, and a growth rate of 26.4% over the past five years. Among the four groups of people, professional and technical personnel are the main body, traditionally also known as the intellectual class. According to the survey, nearly 1/4 of residents in mega cities are engaged in four types of occupations covered by the new social class. Among them, the proportion of respondents to the new social class in Hangzhou is the highest among the ten mega cities, at 33%, which is equivalent to the proportion of respondents within the city's system. The proportion of new social class respondents in Tianjin is the lowest among the ten mega cities, with only 14.20%. The gender proportion of the respondents is relatively balanced, with male accounting for 46.33% and female accounting for 53.67%, which is very close to the gender proportion of all respondents, reflecting from the side that the new social class is engaged in
