On May 25th, a Chinese crested tern soars on the Jiushan Islands in Xiangshan, Zhejiang. The Chinese crested tern, rediscovered in 2000, is an extremely endangered species known as the "mythical bird". The Bird Island in the Jiushan Islands of Xiangshan, Zhejiang is its largest and most important breeding ground in the world. After more than ten years of recruitment and protection, in the past two years, the highest number of adult Chinese crested terns monitored on the island has reached over 90, and the accompanying secondary key protected animal, the Great crested tern, has also stabilized at over 6000.
