Chen Maobo stated that he recently visited the Chinese Culinary Academy and the International Culinary Academy under the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and felt the students' strong interest and enthusiasm for culinary art and even their involvement in this industry. He pointed out that Hong Kong is known as the "City of Gastronomy", and the food economy is definitely an opportunity for Hong Kong, which can provide more development opportunities for young people in particular. The Vocational Training Council is the largest vocational education institution in Hong Kong, providing pre employment and in-service training to approximately 200000 students annually, and awarding internationally recognized academic qualifications. In addition to the culinary arts college, there are also diversified theme colleges under its jurisdiction, such as hotel tourism, design, and maritime training. Vocational education and diversified training can help enhance the overall level and learning ability of the workforce, as well as enhance productivity. Chen Maobo said that although technological changes such as artificial intelligence, big data and robot have impacted traditional processes and positions, they have also brought new opportunities.
