The reporter learned from the National Space Administration that on May 21st at 16:00, China successfully launched the first space science satellite "Macau Science 1" developed in cooperation between mainland China and Macau using the Long March 2C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This satellite, as the first international scientific exploration satellite for low latitude Earth's magnetic field and space environment, is also the most accurate satellite for detecting Earth's magnetic field in China, which will improve China's space magnetic measurement technology level. This project is jointly carried out by the National Space Administration and the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The exploration data is shared by both sides, opening up a new path for cooperation between the mainland and Macao in innovative technology fields such as aerospace. It expands the new space for extensive cooperation and exchange in space science, space technology, and space applications based on the mainland and with Macao as the window, adding new momentum to the development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and high-quality aerospace development. The "Macao Science One" satellite adopts the "A+B" joint observation mode, and A carries high-precision vector magnetometer, scalar magnetometer and other loads, which are mainly used for geomagnetic field detection; B satellite is equipped with high-energy particle detectors, solar X-ray instruments, and other payloads, mainly used to obtain space environmental data for geomagnetic detection, such as solar radiation and high-energy particles.
