Yunju Temple. Liu Dong, a member of People's Daily Online, has been filming for 1039 years. After six dynasties, several generations of ancestors faced barren mountains and leaned against the wilderness. They meticulously carved 14278 stone scriptures with over 35 million inscriptions, which can be considered a miracle in the world. This is the largest existing stone scripture in China, the "Fangshan Yunju Temple Stone Carved Buddhist Tripitaka" (referred to as the Fangshan Stone Sutra). On the occasion of International Museum Day on May 18, people.com.cn reporters walked into the Yunju Temple Stone Scripture Museum to appreciate the stone scripture culture passed down for thousands of years and feel the unique charm of the "Great Northern Temple". Yunju Temple is located at the foot of Baidai Mountain (also known as Shijing Mountain) in Fangshan District, southwest of Beijing, surrounded by mountains and water. It is named after the often shrouded clouds and mist surrounding the temple. The courtyard is shaded by green trees and quiet and solemn. More than 1400 years ago, in the late Sui Dynasty, a prominent monk named Jingwan led his disciples to carve scriptures on stone at Baidai Mountain in order to protect the Dharma. Later, due to the need for scripture carving, a temple was built at the foot of the mountain. One of the major characteristics of Yunju Temple is that "the temple is built based on scriptures, and the temple values scriptures". After several renovations and renovations throughout history, a magnificent temple with five story courtyards and six entrances, covering an area of over 70000 square meters, has been formed. In addition to the Stone Classics, Yunju Temple also retains vast volumes of authentic scriptures such as the Ming Dynasty Paper Classics and the Qing Dynasty Wood Classics, as well as more than ten Tang Liao Shi and brick towers, known as the "Dunhuang of Beijing". Among them, the "Leiyin Cave" was first excavated and is currently the only open scripture storage cave.
