Wang Yi Meets with Former Philippine President Arroyo

On the 3rd, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, met with former Philippine President and Senior Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives, Arroyo, in Beijing. Both sides should follow the important consensus of the two heads of state, adhere to the proper handling of differences through communication and dialogue, and not let maritime issues hinder the overall development of bilateral relations, nor let third parties undermine the friendly relationship between China and the Philippines, let alone allow a resurgence of Cold War thinking and damage regional peace and stability. Arroyo said that Chinese path to modernization fills us with expectations, and building a community with a shared future for mankind is the right path on earth.
