The survey report on urban depositors in the first quarter of 2023 released by the People's Bank of China on April 3 shows that 23.2% of residents tend to consume more, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous quarter; 58.0% of residents tend to save more, a decrease of 3.8 percentage points compared to the previous quarter; Residents who tend to invest more accounted for 18.8%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. Specifically, the top three preferred investment methods among residents are "banking, securities, and insurance company wealth management products", "fund trust products", and "stocks", with 43.9%, 21.5%, and 15.3% of residents choosing these three investment methods, respectively. When asked about the projects that plan to increase expenses in the next three months, the ranking of residents' choices from high to low is: education (28.4%), healthcare (27.6%), tourism (24.0%), social culture and entertainment (19.9%), large value goods (18.9%), home purchase (17.5%), and insurance (14.1%). In terms of prices and housing prices, the expected price index for the next quarter is 58.6%, a decrease of 4.2 percentage points from the previous quarter. Among them, 24.6% of residents expect prices to "rise" next quarter, 54.2% of residents expect prices to "remain basically unchanged", 9.5% of residents expect prices to "decline", and 11.8% of residents say they are "uncertain". For the next quarter's housing prices, 18.5% of residents expect an "increase", 54.1% of residents expect a "basically unchanged", 14.4% of residents expect a "decrease", and 13.1% of residents say they are "uncertain". The survey report on entrepreneurs in the first quarter of 2023 released by the central bank on the same day showed that the macroeconomic heat index of entrepreneurs was 33.8%, an increase of 10.3 percentage points from the previous quarter and a decrease of 1.9 percentage points from the same period last year. Among them, 33.9% of entrepreneurs believe that the macro economy is "cold", 64.6% believe that it is "normal", and 1.5% believe that it is "hot". In terms of the fund turnover index and sales fund withdrawal index, the fund turnover index was 59.9%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points from the previous quarter and basically unchanged from the same period last year. Among them, 33.2% of entrepreneurs believe that the cash flow situation this quarter is "good", 53.5% think it is "average", and 13.3% think it is "difficult". The sales revenue recovery index was 62.2%, an increase of 2.4 percentage points from the previous quarter and a decrease of 1.2 percentage points from the same period last year. Among them, 32.8% of entrepreneurs believe that the return of sales funds this quarter is "good", 58.8% think it is "average", and 8.4% think it is "difficult". According to the survey report on bankers in the first quarter of 2023, the banking industry prosperity index was 71.9%, an increase of 6.1 percentage points from the previous quarter and a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the same period last year. The bank's profit index was 66.0%, an increase of 4.7 percentage points from the previous quarter and 0.6 percentage points from the same period last year. The overall demand index for loans was 78.4%, an increase of 19.0 percentage points from the previous quarter and 6.1 percentage points from the same period last year.
