A regiment of Naval Aviation University: Practice and Practice to Improve Support Skills

2023-03-30

"Ready to fly..." In early spring, a high intensity landing training is about to begin on the Liaoning ship, which is breaking the waves. Mechanical professionals drill under the wing to observe the operation; Ad hoc professionals connect the power supply and start power-on inspection; Avionics professionals align with inertial navigation and load navigation data... As soon as they completed the land-based flight support task, the shipborne crew of a certain regiment of the Naval Aviation University who boarded the ship with the aid of a helicopter immediately engaged in the ship-based flight support work. "Compared to land-based flight support, ship-based flight support has a high intensity and risk factor, and it is necessary to switch working conditions within a short period of time, which puts higher requirements on the professional ability of officers and soldiers." The leader of the regiment introduced that in recent years, new types of combat aircraft have been installed in succession. Facing the reality of multiple types of equipment and heavy support tasks, they have focused on the construction of combat effectiveness and strengthened the training of shipborne aircraft maintenance talents, Constantly promote the transformation of the talent team from a single skill type to a versatile and composite type. As a new type of support force, the capability and quality of shipborne maintenance personnel are closely linked to the combat effectiveness of the troops. However, during the investigation, the leaders of the regiment found that there is still a certain gap in the ability and quality of some officers and soldiers, which is incompatible with the actual needs of mission expansion, new fighter aircraft maintenance, and so on. To this end, based on extensive consultation and suggestions, they have developed a set of "combination boxing": adhere to the principle of leading training through war and educating people through war, select and send backbone forces to the frontline to follow up with training and learning, and sharpen their skills in training practice; Encourage officers and soldiers to learn support skills across disciplines on the basis of strengthening their own professional skills, and strive to become versatile talents with one specialty; Guided by major performance and training tasks, post training and martial arts competitions, professional and technical personnel are promoted to the front line of performance and training, and battlefield support capabilities are tempered in task practice. With the help of large tasks, a group of shipborne maintenance talents in the regiment have grown rapidly, gradually realizing the transformation from "support personnel" to "combatants". On this basis, they further optimize force formation, strengthen support effectiveness, effectively shorten maintenance preparation time, and continuously improve the support capability of multiple aircraft types that are integrated day and night, and land based and ship based. Recently, the regiment has selected multiple crew members to follow the aircraft carrier formation to carry out offshore training. It needs to complete the deployment tasks from offshore training to offshore combat, with frequent day and night shifts and heavy support tasks. During the mission, the officers and soldiers participating in the training were full of passion and high morale, providing efficient support for high-frequency, high-intensity takeoff and landing training of shipborne fighter jets, and winning praise.
