Orderly Promotion of Afforestation and Greening Work in Military Areas of the Whole Army

2023-03-27

Recently, the relevant departments of the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission have made arrangements for the afforestation and greening work in military areas throughout the military, requiring all units to assist in the ecological construction of the garrison and actively promote the coordinated development of green areas within their respective regions. Developing afforestation and greening in military areas is an effective way to promote land greening and a specific measure to strengthen the ecological environment protection of the military. In recent years, the entire military has actively participated in supporting the construction of the ecological environment of the garrison, the management of barren mountains and wastelands, the protection of forest and grassland resources in military areas, and aerial seeding and afforestation, achieving the coordinated development of combat readiness training and ecological construction, providing good environmental protection for the military's combat readiness training. The relevant departments require that leaders and cadres of all units and departments take the lead in participating in voluntary tree planting activities, organize and mobilize officers and soldiers to actively participate, and fulfill their tree planting obligations through afforestation, tending, management and protection, identification and adoption of species, and donation of funds and materials. Combining the characteristics of camp types, promote greening and beautification in different areas, plant green plants by classification, and continuously improve the ecological and environmental conditions of military areas. Strengthen the protection and management of ancient and famous trees, sort out and count the resource base, and share it with local management data. The entire army should actively participate in the protection of ecological functional areas such as the Great and Small Xing'an Mountains and the Changbai Mountains and the construction of the northern sand belt in accordance with the characteristics of the garrison and the ecological planning tasks, and build a strong ecological security barrier in northern Xinjiang; Strengthen ecological and environmental co protection and joint governance with relevant local departments to build a beautiful central region with green development; Assist in promoting the green revitalization and development of special types of areas such as revolutionary old areas, resource based areas, old industrial bases, and high altitude areas, to achieve ecological prosperity for the people; We will implement a system for banning grazing, grazing, and balancing grassland and livestock on large-scale grasslands, focus on grassland vegetation restoration and grassland improvement, and ensure that the standards for grassland protection in military areas are not lowered.
